Little is known of John except that it is said that he had at least three sons: Joseph; John; Samuel; and, no doubt, daughters Mary and Mercy. We believe him to be also the father of the daughters we have given him by Ruth since he the only one of his generation who seems not to have recorded his childrens birth. He also moved around a good deal.
On Mar 13 1799 he and family were warned out of Portsmouth, RI. He received two deeds to land in Wilton, CT, then a part of Norwalk, Feb 13, 1726/27 from Joseph Olmstead altough he was "Of Bristol" in the deeds.
