Elizabeth was born on August 29th, 1796 in Middleway, Jefferson County, Virginia.  Elizabeth's father was David Pulse and her mother was Sarah Fry.  Her paternal grandparents were John Michael Boltz and Eleanor (Nelly) Veronica Firnssler; her maternal grandparents were Lodowick Fry and Abigail. She had six brothers and eight sisters, named George, David, Jacob, John, Lewis, John, Susannah, Eleanor, Catherine, Sarah, Margaret, Mary, Lydia and Barbara.  She was the fifth oldest of the fifteen children.  She died at the age of 63 on April 8th, 1860 in Highland County, Ohio.  She was buried in Stroup Cemetery, Lynchburg, Ohio.

Elizabeth and Thomas were married on March 26th, 1816 in Frederick County, Virginia.  They had seven sons and five daughters, named John, William, George, Thomas, John, Lewis, Elijah, Sarah, Elizabeth, Julianna, Lydia and Mary.
