In the name of God Amen, I, ROBERT MCCALL of Perry Township in the County of Clarion and State of Pennsylvania, Being in the decline of life but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and ordain my last Will and Testament in the words following;
Viz; The property which it has pleased Divine Goodness to bestow upon me, it is my will and I hereby direct that it be disposed of in the following manner.
To my two sons ROBERT and WALKER ALLEN I give and bequeath the old farm on which I now live containing about one hundred and fifty six acres (including the small piece lately bought from Thomas McConnell and others) to be held and enjoyed by them their heirs and assigns forever subject to the support and comfortable maintenance of their mother during her natural life but they are not to have the right or power to sell nor dispose of the said land at no time during their mothers life without her consent in writing first had and obtained. I also give and bequeath to my said sons ROBERT and WALKER ALLEN a team and the necessary gear and plow and harrow.
It is my will that my said sons shall pay to my daughters HARRIETT and LAVINA, such sum of money as will make them equal to the shares of their other sisters. This to be paid in three years after my decease and to remain as a lien upon the land until paid.
To my dearly beloved wife HANNAH I give and bequeath all my household and kitchen furniture and one cow and six sheep to be hers absolutely to dispose of at her pleasure.
All the residue of my personal estate and the proceeds of the sale of my other real estate I hereby direct to be divided in the following manner;
Viz; To my grand children the children of my late daughter SARAH I give and bequeath ten dollars each. The residue to be divided into eleven equal parts and to be paid to eleven of my children as follows. To my daughters, HETTY, PEGGY and ELIZA and to my sons WILLIAM, JOHN, THOMAS, ALEXANDER, JAMES and MATTHEW one share each. To my daughter JANE one hundred dollars less than an equal share and to my daughter ELLEN one hundred dollars more than an equal share.
I do authorize and empower my Executor of this my will to collect all debts which may be owing to me to pay my debts and all necessary expenses to sell the residue of my personal property not before bequeathed and as soon after my decease as he may deem advisable sell all the residue of my lands either at public or private sale (but first to offer it at public sale) and on such terms as will be most advantageous to the estate and to make a deed or deeds to the purchaser or purchasers and as soon as funds are available pay the legatees before mentioned equal parts of the money on hand in proportion to their respective legacies until all are paid. I have sold to my son JAMES the land on which he now lives for which he is to pay according to the conditions of an article of agreement between us.
I therefore hereby authorize the Executor of this my will to make execute and deliver to my said son James a deed of conveyance for said tract when he fulfils the said article and also to make a deed to my son JOHN for the land I sold to him when he complies with the conditions of his article. I do hereby constitute and appoint my son WILLIAM MCCALL to be the executor of this my will. I do publish and declare the foregoing to be my last Will and Testament duly revoking and annulling all others by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I haveunto set my hand and seal the twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three.
