(April 22, 2003) On board USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). An F-14B Tomcat assigned to Fighter Squadron Three Seven (VF-32) the "Swordsmen," breaks the sound barrier during a super sonic fly by for the crew of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). TRUMAN and Carrier Airwing THREE (CVW 3) are currently on a six-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multinational coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.

Pacific Ocean (January 29, 2004) The Comanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel William "Chester" Waldron from Strike Fighter Squadron Three One (VMFA-314) "Black Knights" preforms a Super Sonic fly by for Columbia's embarked Visual effects unit for an upcoming Hollywood production "Stealth" . USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and her crew are currently underway for the first time since returning from an eight and one half-month western pacific deployment. The "Gold Eagle" is conducting sustainment training with Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 and units of the Carl Vinson Strike Group.

Atlantic Ocean (June 9, 2004)-- An F/A-18 Hornet, from Strike Fighter Squadron Eight Two (VFA-82, the "Marauders"), piloted by Lieutenant CommanderJames Montgomery, of Yukon, Okla., breaks the sound barrier during a supersonic flyby of the USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Naval Air Station Oceana, VA (Sept. 25, 2004) - An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Flying Eagles" of Strike Fighter Squadron One Two Two (VFA-122), conducts a high-speed pass in front of the crowd at the 2004 "In Pursuit of Liberty," Naval Air Station Oceana Air Show. The Super Hornet was painted in the colors of the "Jolly Rogers" of Fighter Squadron One Zero Three (VF-103), which will transition to the new aircraft after their current deployment. The air show, held Sept. 24-26, showcased civilian and military aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight demonstrations and static displays.
