Little Bear Peak, June 2004

Believe it or not, I got up at 5:00 am (or a few minutes after).

I was supposed to go up the gulley in the center of the picture. I went up the one to the left of that, because I missed the turn. Backtracking was naturally out of the question.

Up the valley. Little bear is to the right of this picture. The one just left of center is Ellingwood Point.

The peak is in the clouds here, but they cleared out before I got there.

I walked up that road on the far side of the lake. It's famous for being impassable to most vehicles.

This is not the correct route to the top. This is the one I took.

This is closer, but I think the route is to the left of this picture.

The wall on the right is almost a vertical cliff, about 800'.

I made it down into the trees before the rain came.
