Elizabeth was born on November 21st, 1823 in North Carolina. Elizabeth's father was Peter Coble and her mother was Mary Catherine Kimbrough. Her paternal grandparents were John Coble and Catherine Fogleman. She had a brother and three sisters, named David, Peggy, Millie and Sally. She was the second oldest of the five children.
