Elizabeth Cox 
Elizabeth was born about 1700 in Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Elizabeth's father was James Cox and her mother was Anne. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Cox and Elizabeth Blashford. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, John, Judge Joseph, Rachel, Anna, Alice, Dorothy and Rebecca. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children. She died in October 1796.General Notes
When a child, she planted the box bushes at the old home in Upper Freehold. They grew very large and suggested the name, "Box Grove," by which the place was afterwards known.
