Elizabeth was born in 1758 in Harford County, Maryland.  Elizabeth's father was Francis Downing and her mother was Susannah Wells.  Her maternal grandfather was Richard Wells.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 35 in 1793 in Mason County, Kentucky.
