Richard was born in 1346 in Arundel, Sussex, England.  Richard's father was Richard FitzAlan, 10th Earl of Arundel and his mother was Eleanor Plantagenet.  His paternal grandparents were Sir Edmund FitzAlan, 9th Earl of Arundel and Alice de Warenne; his maternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet, 3rd Earl of Lancaster and Matilda de Chaworth. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Joan and Alice.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers named Edmund and Henry.  He died at the age of 51 on September 21st, 1397 in London, England.

Richard's first family

Richard and Elizabeth were married on September 28th, 1359 in Derbyshire, England.  They had a daughter named Elizabeth.


Richard's second family

Richard and Phillipa were married.
