James was born on January 12th, 1881 in Indiana.  James' father was Hugh Naanes and his mother is Eliza Jane Davis.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 68 in 1949 in Owen County, Indiana.  He was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, Owen County, Indiana.
