Constantine's father was Leo (the Wise) VI, Emperor of Constantinople. His paternal grandfather was Basil (the Macedonian) I, Emperor of Constantinople. He was an only child. He died in 0959.General Notes
He held the office of Co-regent of Constantinople in 908. He succeeded to the title of Emperor Constantine VII of Constantinople in 913.
