Stephen was born about 1830.  Stephen's father was Thomas Wilson Trekell and his mother was Elizabeth Sanford.  His paternal grandparents were Christopher Treakle and Mary Wilson. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Christopher, Greenbury, Thomas, Franklin, Julia and Levina.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died in 1858.
