James was born about 1530 in Holme-On-Spalding Moor, Yorkshire, England.  James' father was John Watson and his mother was Sothern.  His paternal grandparents were John Watson and Margaret.  He was an only child.  He died after July 10th, 1615.  He was buried before May 1616.
