William was born before 1241 in Wendover, Buckingham, England.  William's father was Sir Enguerrand de Fiennes Baron of Tingry and Ruminghen, Lord of Wendover and his mother was Maud Hampden.  His paternal grandparents were William de Fiennes 1st Baron of Fiennes and Agnes de Dammartin.  He was an only child.  He died in 1302 in Courtral, Flandre, Occidential, Belgium.
