Samuel and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on July 13th, 1824 in Blount County,Tennessee.1 They had five sons and six daughters, named Joseph Utter, James Ellis, Robert Cowden, William Augustus, Samuel, Amanda Jane, Margaret Malinda, Hetty Ann, Martha Sarah, Mary F. and Serphina.
