Rodigastus was born in 0840.  Rodigastus' father was Prince Mieceslas I of Obotrites and his mother was Antonia of the Obotrites.  His paternal grandparents were Prince Billung II of Obotrites and Jutta of the Obotrites.  He was an only child.
