The Minnow needed bottom paint. The boat was in Cape Charles, Virginia. The nearest place that could haul out a boat that wide was in Georgtown, Maryland,
180 miles up the Chesapeake Bay.
So I hopped in the car, drove to Cape Charles, and sailed up to Georgetown.
Some people painted the bottom of the boat and did some other work. I meandered about in MD, DE, NJ, and PA for a few days.
Then I decided to take the boat up the Potomac and park it at Washington DC. For the fun of it.
So Mike, Steven, Brian, and I got to go from
Washington to Key West and Ft. Jefferson a couple of weeks later.
