Elizabeth was born about 1717.  Elizabeth's father was Heinrich Frey and her mother was Anna Catherine Levering.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Frey and Anna Hirtzeller; her maternal grandparents were Wingard Levering and Magdalena Bokers. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, William, Henry, Abraham, Benjamin, John, George, Rebecca and Amelia.  She was the third youngest of the ten children.
