Joseph Fry 
Joseph was born in 1727 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Joseph's father was Benjamin Fry and his mother was Christen Ann Merkle. His paternal grandparents were Heinrich Frey and Anna Catherine Levering; his maternal grandparents were Abraham Merkle and Anna Veronica Landvatter. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Abraham, Benjamin, Henry, Jacob, Samuel, Lodowick, Christin, William and Elizabeth. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 54 in September 1781 in Woodstock, Shenandoah County, Virginia.-
