Guillaume, known as the Troubadour, was born on October 22nd, 1071 in Aquitaine, Bordeaux, France.  The Troubadour's father was Guillaume (the Fat) VIII, Duc d'Aquitaine and his mother was Hildegarde of Burgundy.  His paternal grandparents were Guillaume (the Great) V, Duc d'Aquitaine and Agnes de Bourgogne; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Bourgogne, Duc de Bourgogne and Ermengarde de Anjou.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 54 on February 10th, 1126 in Poitiers, Vienne, France.
