Wesley Herndon 
Wesley was born on January 2nd, 1794 in Madison County, Virginia. Wesley's father was William Herndon and his mother was Mary Bohannon. His paternal grandparents were William Herndon and Ann Drysdale. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Elliott, George, William, Thomas, Nathaniel, Caddis, Archer, Nancy, Judith, Frances and Jane. born 2 January 1794 in Madison County, Va., and continued to live there until his parents removed to Green County, Ky., approximately ten years later. From 11 June 1814 to 3 0 June 1815 he served under Captain B. Harrison in the Second Regiment of United States Riflemen. Because of that service he was allowed a pension. In his pension application papers he stated that at the time of his enlistment he was of, light complexion and sandy hair; was 5' 11" tall; and that he had followed the occupation of blacksmith.
He married at Brookville, Ind., 26 May 1813, ESTHER HALBERSTADT. They removed in 1825 to the town of Union in Boone County, Ky. From there they went to Burlington and shortly thereafter to Florence in that same County. They made their home there for the rest of their lives. Wesley Herndon died suddenly of a heart attack while shoeing a horse 9 October 1854.
