Martin was born on December 14th, 1777 in Przytarnia, Bydgoszcz, Poland and his baptism took place on December 14th, 1777. His godfather was Josephy Kuklinski and his godmother was Cathrina Dalecka. Martin's father was Stanislaus Korynta and his mother was Marianna. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Stefan, Joseph, Elizabeth and Franciszca. He was the third oldest of the five children.
