Amanda Jane was born on March 13th, 1825 in Near Maryville,Blount Co.,TN. Amanda Jane's father was Samuel Moore and her mother was Jane Utter. Her maternal grandparents were Abraham Utter and Martha Lycan. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Joseph Utter, James Ellis, Robert Cowden, William Augustus, Samuel, Margaret Malinda, Hetty Ann, Martha Sarah, Mary F. and Serphina. She died about 1892 in Clearfield,Taylor Co.,Iowa.General Notes
Amanda Moore apparently did not marry. She is present in the household of her sister Martha S. Moore and her brother-in-law Alexander Perkins in the 1880 census of Washington Township, Wayne Co., Iowa. Her birthplace is listed as Tennessee, and her age is given as 57!
According to Carol Larsen, Amanda died about 1892 at the home of her younger brother, William Augustus Moore, in Clearfield Iowa.
