In some sources, she is called Elsa J. Bracewell. This is incorrect; she is being confused with another individual (DLM). According to Rose's notes on the 1880 census of Wayne Co., IA, her name is Elsa J. Dean, father and mother from Ireland.
The 1880 census of Allerton, Wayne Co., Iowa lists her as Eliza J. Dean, born PA, widowed, age 69, father born Ireland, mother born Ireland. She is head of the household; and her granddaughter, Gertrude Moore, age 10, born Iowa, father born Indiana, mother born Ohio, is living with her.
