Charles was born about 1536 in Herzeau, Lille, France (Belgium). Charles' father was Antoine de Fiennes du Bois and his mother was Baudouine Lyonnel. His paternal grandparents were Charles de Fiennes du Bois and Claudine de Lannoy. He was an only child. He died in 1607 in France.General Notes
He was also known as Signeur de Bourse. The du Bois name is of fuedal origin.
The name is related to Count de Roussey [c 1110] whoses ancestors added this title of du Bois to their patronymic. It is an old name in Neustria, before the time of Rollo.
