The East coast of Greenland, near Illulissat
![IMG_1044.jpg](small_IMG_1044.jpg)
On approach to Illulissat. The 2800 foot runway is in the distance. Those icebergs are big!
![IMG_1045.jpg](small_IMG_1045.jpg)
That's a big boat behind this iceberg.

Leann and Melinda at the ice fjord. I think this is the most productive glacier in the Northern
Hemisphere.

Recent glacier polish.

Sled crossing.

You can see that this iceberg is resting on the bottom.

This iceberg was capsized.

The ice floats out of the fjord into the ocean. There is a submerged "spit", or raised area that blocks the
big icebergs here, forming the ice fjord.

Flying up the ice fjord.

This glaciers is supposed to be the largest in the Northern Hemisphere, even bigger than the Bering Glacier
in Alaska.
![IMG_1290.jpg](small_IMG_1290.jpg)
It's BIG.
![IMG_1292.jpg](small_IMG_1292.jpg)
You can see the Greenland Ice Cap on top here. It goes all the way across Greenland to the mountains of
eastern Greenland.
