Amelia was born on July 1st, 1719.  Amelia's father was Heinrich Frey and her mother was Anna Catherine Levering.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Frey and Anna Hirtzeller; her maternal grandparents were Wingard Levering and Magdalena Bokers. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, William, Henry, Abraham, Benjamin, John, George, Elizabeth and Rebecca.  She was the youngest of the ten children.
