Edward was born in March 1678 in St. Stephens Parish, New Kent County, Virginia.  Edward's father was William Herndon and his mother was Catherine Digges.  His paternal grandparents were William Herndon and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Edward Digges and Elizabeth Page. He had two brothers named James and William.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 80 on March 9th, 1758 in Caroline County, Virginia.

Edward's first family

Edward and Mary were married in 1698 in Newport, Spotsylvania, Virginia.  They had six sons and three daughters, named John, Edward, William, Richard, David, James, Anne, Martha and Herndon.


Edward's second family

Edward and Leftwich were married in 1727.  They had a daughter named Esther.
