Henry was born about 1718 in Albemarle Parish, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.  Henry's father was John Mangum and his mother was Frances Silvester Bennett.  His paternal grandparents were John Mangum and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Richard Bennett II and Ann. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Samuel, Joseph, Nicholas, James, Frances, Mary and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the ten children.  He died on May 7th, 1795 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia.
