Mabel was born about 1909 in Oklahoma.  Mabel's father was August Carl Reese and her mother was Sarah Sofia Tolle.  Her paternal grandparents were Carl Reese and Bormei (Minnie); her maternal grandparents were Herman Tolle and Caroline. She had five brothers named Julius, Albert, Herbert, Frank and Harold.  She is the second youngest of the six children.
