Charles was born in February 1877.  Charles' father was William H Rutledge and his mother was Almira Alice Aler.  His maternal grandparents were Augustus Aler and Sarah Rosanne Hoober. He had a sister named Cora.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 57 in May 1934 in Crescent, Oklahoma.
