Bartholomew Jacob Van Valkenburgh 
Bartholomew was born on April 13th, 1833 in Seneca Falls, New York.1 Bartholomew's father was Dr Harman Pruyn Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Catherine Pruyn. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and Catherine Pruyn; his maternal grandparents were Francis Pruyn and Maria Van Vleck. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Abram, Harman, Edward, Alvin, Catherine, Margaret and Sarah. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 59 on February 12th, 1893 in Barton County, Missouri.2 General Notes
