Edward Travis Van Valkenburgh 
Edward was born on May 28th, 1877 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. Edward's father was Edward Porter Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Martha Jane Travis. His paternal grandparents were Dr Harman Pruyn Van Valkenburgh and Catherine Pruyn; his maternal grandparents were David Peake Travis and Elizabeth Goldman Donoho. He had three brothers and four sisters, named David, Alvin, Frederick, Lizzie, Nannie, Francis and Zella. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 66 on January 28th, 1944 in Harper County, Kansas. He was buried in Star Cemetery, Harper County, Kansas.General Notes
Alvin's family used to come from Deer Creek to visit Uncle Eddie and Uncle Fred in Harper.
His mother Martha Jane lived with them in 1920.
