Her paternal grandparents were Frank Pratt Van Valkenburgh and Jane Irvin Swoope; her maternal grandparents were Edward Cooper Horne and Ann Carleen McCowen. She had a brother and a sister, named Franklin and Jane. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 67 on August 13th, 1984 in San Diego County, California.General Notes
