Maurice de Berkeley, 2nd Lord Berkeley 
Maurice, known as the Magnaminous, was born in April 1271. The Magnaminous' father was Thomas de Berkeley, 1st Lord Berkeley and his mother was Joan de Ferrers. His paternal grandparents were Sir Maurice (the Resolute) de Berkeley and Isabel Fitzroy; his maternal grandparents were William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby and Margaret de Quinci. He was an only child. He died at the age of 55 on May 31st, 1326.General Notes
He fought in the Scottish Wars between 1295 and 1318, where he distinguished himself. He fought in the siege of Carlaverock in July 1300.
He joined the Earl of Lancaster in the rebellion against King Edward II. He held the office of Seneschal of Aquitaine in 1320. On 6 January 1321/22 he was sent prisoner to Wallingford Castle.
