Eleanor's father was Edmund de Holland, 4th Earl of Kent and her mother was Constance Langley (Plantagenet).  Her maternal grandparents were Edmund of Langley Duke of York, Earl of Cambridge and Isabella de Castilla. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Richard and Isabel.
