John of Gaunt 
John was born in 1340. John's father was King Edward Plantagenet III of England and his mother was Phillipa de Hainault. His paternal grandparents were King Edward II of England and Isabella Princess of France. He had four brothers and three sisters, named the Black Prince, Lionel, Edmund, Thomas, Isabella, Mary and Margaret. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 59 in 1399.-
