George W. Ambrose

George was born in May 1858 in Virginia.¹ George's father was Jacob Ambrose and his mother was Mary Caroline Touchstone. His paternal grandparents were John Bell Ambrose Sr and Elizabeth "Betsy" Crum. He had six brothers and a sister, named Hamilton, Henry, John, Edward, Thomas, William and Ann. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
