Hugh Meherry Ambrose

Hugh was born on March 17th, 1861 in Mt. Pulaski, Logan County, Illinois. Hugh's father was Rev. Lewis Duckwall Ambrose and his mother was Nancy Lieb. His paternal grandparents were Rev. William Hanby Ambrose and Susanna B. Crum. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, William, Mathias, Samuel, Jacob, David, George, Catherine, Susanna and Mary. He was the youngest of the eleven children.
