Solomon was born on March 1st, 1732 in Nansemond County, Virginia.  Solomon's father was John Langston III and his mother was Mary Agnes Mangum.  His paternal grandparents were John Langston II and Ann Vann; his maternal grandparents were John Mangum and Frances Silvester Bennett. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Absalom, James, Jechonias, John, Joseph, Amy and Louisa.  He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Samuel, Jesse, Libby, Rebecca, Sally, Polly, Molly, Martha, Fanny and Sarah.  He died about 1825 in Laurens County, South Carolina.  He was buried in Enoree, South Carolina, Family Cemetery near Langston's Baptist Church.
