David Tuttle Medaris 
David was born on May 19th, 1817. David's father was Abraham Medaris and his mother was Charity Ellsworth. His paternal grandparents were Oliver Medaris and Wilmuth Redmond; his maternal grandparents were John Ellsworth and Mary Richards. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Thomas, Simeon, Jacob, Mary and Wilmuth. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 87 on February 13th, 1905.General Notes
David married Rebecca's sister 4 months after Rebecca died.
David was a farmer and lived in Shelby County,Ohio until about 1855 when they moved to Knox County, Illinois. Then they moved to McDonough County, Illinois leaving there in 1866 to move to Linn Co., Kansas where they lived near Centerville. Many of their children lived near Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas. In addition to the raising of thorobred horses, cattle and hogs, David was a wood cutter, a country doctor and a holiness minister.
