Levicy, known as Teancy, was born on November 14th, 1816. Teancy's father was James Davis Medaris and her mother was Levisa King. Her paternal grandparents were Oliver Medaris and Wilmuth Redmond. She had nine brothers named Jonathan, Ithamer, Riley, Salathiel, Massey, Stephen, Nathaniel, James and Abraham. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-sister named Mary.-
