Josiah Allis Van Valkenburgh

Josiah was born about 1833 in Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York. Josiah's father was William Moore Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Emily Allis. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and Catherine Pruyn; his maternal grandparents were Josiah Allis and Mary Bull. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Francis, Horace, Caroline, Mary and Emily. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died on October 2nd, 1851. He was buried in Prattsburg Pioneer Cemetery, Prattsburg, Steuben County, New York.
