Anna was born on September 6th, 1750 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  Anna's father was Johann Michael Boltz and her mother was Maria Barbara Lauten.  Her paternal grandparents were Hans Michael Boltz and Anna Margaretha; her maternal grandparents were Michael Lauten and Barbara. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named John, George, Magdalena, Eva, Margretha, Anna, Anna, Elizabeth and Catherine.  She was the youngest of the ten children.
