Henry was born on November 25th, 1894 in Woodbine, Kansas. Henry's father was Henry William Schuermann and his mother was Lydia Freitag.  His paternal grandparents were William Schuermann and Gertrude Blumbach. He had two brothers and two sisters, named WC, Edgar, Minnie and Gertrude. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Fritz, Laverne, Lorena and Millicent.  He died at the age of 77 in September 1972 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma.
