Juliann was born on August 28th, 1809 in Ann Arundel County, Maryland.  Juliann's father was Christopher Treakle and her mother was Mary Wilson.  Her paternal grandparents were Greenbury Treakle and Rachel. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Stephen, Washington, Jefferson, Edward, Eliza, Mariah, Elizabeth and Lucretia.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.
