Isaac was born before June 23rd, 1718 and his christening took place on June 23rd, 1718 in Dutch Reformed Church, Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York. Isaac's father was Bartholomeus Van Valkenburgh and his mother was Catherine van Alstyne. His paternal grandparents were Jochem Lambertse Van Valkenburgh and Eva Hendrickse Vrooman; his maternal grandparents were Lambert Janse van Alstyne and Jannetje Mingael. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Jochem, Lambert, Pieter, Johannes, Thomas, Abraham, Jacob, Eva and Jannetje. He was the third youngest of the ten children.General Notes
