Sarah was born on September 1st, 1801 in On a ship going to America. Sarah's father was Dr. Peter Joseph Ridings and her mother was Mary Brotherton. Her paternal grandparents were John Ridings and Mary Morris. She had eleven brothers named Edwin, James, John, William, Joseph, Cyrus, Samuel, George, Peter, Charles and Isaac. She was the third oldest of the twelve children.General Notes
