Anna's father was Jeremiah Travis and her mother was Margaret Peake. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Travis and Hannah Hutchins; her maternal grandparents were David Peak and Jane Martin. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Martin, John, David, Jeremiah, Susanna, Annie and Polly.
