James Roe Ambrose

James was born in April 1832 in Champaign County, Ohio.¹   James' father was Frederick Ambrose and his mother was Mary Ann Poff.  His paternal grandfather was William Henry Ambrose and his paternal grandmother is Sarah. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Gatch, John, Elizabeth, Susan and Rebecca.  He was the third youngest of the six children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacob, Peter, Newton and Margaret.
